Tutorial to Recover Your Memory Card Password Without Formatting

I found this tutorial from another forum and sharing it here. So the credit goes to jnx_r.  \m/

1st of all u need 2 have ur symbian phone hacked, a working version of rom_patcher installed and a file browser like X-plore or FileExplorer through which u can access private folders.

Steps

1. Open RomPatcher and apply open4all patch.

2. Run x-plore and change the configuration to 'Show Hidden Files'.

3. Then goto C:\sys\data and you can see the file 'mmcstore'.

4. Open the file in the inbuilt hex-editor and you can see your password in the right column.

      In my case my password is choclate

NOTE: We can find the 'mmcstore' file from the phone where the password was initially set. So by this method we can't unlock any locked mmc. :D

So that means only those MMC can b unlocked whose pass was set within the phone it was at the moment??

So this wont work for the mmc's connected to PC via card reader?

Anybody help me...i had 16gb mmc in 5230 with password setted ...but i lost 5230...now i have that 16gb  mmc with forgetten password...is there any pc application or any other trick to get my password or unlock mmc ?

usually the mmc password is stored in the device from which the password is set and not in the mmc card itself. So, its difficult to obtain the password or retain it back without the phone from which the password is set.... You can try some tools published here to recover the password, It may or may not help...just try those apps..

If nothing works, try to format it via PC (it it gets detected in PC)

Also Try with linux operating system in PC...

I guess, the card got corrupted.

Do try out some apps provided here and check if you could recover. Also, try to access the card using Linux based PC (ubuntu)...and if it detects in linux OS, do a format.
