Guest prayaas1998 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 If leftover space is used as Phone memory, what we can do is that we can repartition using vizhigal's tutorial assigning lesser space to rofs2 (around 90 MB) leaving the core the way it is. Then we'll see if we gained some space on C:. Quote
farazejaz Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 if we dont include maps its easily possible to limt rofs to 90-95 mb and do maps ever work for PAkistan ? Quote
Guest prayaas1998 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 So who will try it? The Million Dollar Question. I'll repartition it but not try... Quote

Guest prayaas1998 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 No. We are just repartitioning normally... I want to take back my words in the previous post. Quote

vizhigal Posted November 6, 2011 Author Report Posted November 6, 2011 Sorry for the late reply i was away from internet. All BB5 phones have a Flash EEPROM ( ( Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory ) The total capacity of EEPROM varies with the model and hence the C drive capacity also The basic details of RM 356 -5800 Operating-System_Kernel: Symbian Memory,-Storage-capacity ROM;type: Flash EEPROM ROM:capacity: 256 MiB, including 81MiB user-accessible non-volatile storage RAM;type: SDRAM RAM+capacity: 128 MiB From the above it is clear that C drive capacity is 81 Mib and rest goes for Z drive ( ROFS1 ,ROFS2&ROFS3 ) For RM 356 OFW the partition is below and we need to notice that the total capacity for Z drive can not exceed 166068224. In Core file , Address : 00000127 you will find the below details last 2 parts are the capacity in bytes. 00000300000002 00080000 029E0000 524288 43909120 00000400000002 02A60000 07400000 44433408 121634816 00000800000001 09E60000 058C0000 166068224 93061120 00000A00000001 0F8C0000 260833280 . Core is 44433408 , ROFSN is 121634816 and the Z drive total is 166068224 .C dive is 93061120. Total capacity is 260833280 .( 248.75 Mb ) The basic details of RM 612 , C6-00 is below Memory,:Storage+capacity RAM+type: SDRAM RAM+capacity: 128 MiB ROM+type: Flash EEPROM ROM+capacity: 512 MiB, including 280MiB user-accessible non-volatile storage In RM 612 core we can find the details as below 00000300000002 00080000 019A0000 524288 2686970 00000400000002 01A20000 0B980000 27394048 194510848 00000800000001 0D3C0000 11BC0000 222035968 297533440 00000A00000001 1F140000 521404416 Core is 27394048 , ROFSN is 194510848 and the Z drive total is 222035968 .C dive is 297533440 . Total capacity is 521404416 .( 497.25 Mb ) The basic details of RM -555 ,N97 mini is below Memory,-Storage-capacity RAM+type: SDRAM RAM-capacity: 128 MiB ROM+type: Flash EEPROM ROM:capacity: 512 MiB, including 280.6MiB user-accessible non-volatile storage The below details we can find in the core file 00000300000002 00080000 019C0000 524288 27000832 00000400000002 01A40000 0B960000 27525120 194379776 00000800000001 0D3A0000 11BE0000 221904896 297664512 00000A00000001 1F140000 521404416 Core is 27525120 , ROFSN is 194379776 and the Z drive total is 221904896 .C dive is 297664512 . Total capacity is 521404416 .( 497.25 Mb ) Hence depending upon the EEPROM capacity the core and ROFS2 & C drive capacity are decided. One more thing we need to know about the flashing process and about the loaders used in the flashing process before any changes to be made. Quote
farazejaz Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 impressive stuff so can we go the other way give rofs a bigger space for a lot of features Quote
vds5344 Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 hmmm but anyt way to bypass the limits? Quote
