do it manually, if anythng doesn't work. Manual method always works

He is doing manual selection itself...

@crnair:

Copy paste all the 6 files (or 7, might be) to C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-356

Tick dead usb, manual flash and normal mode option in jaf

untick CMT 308

Tick "Use INI"

a selection box would appear...select the phone model

check all the three lights glow: MCU, PPM and APE-Variant

make sure u connect ur phone in switch off mode (remove the battery and re-insert it)

Click "FLash" button in JAF

A message would appear as "PRESS POWER ON NOW!....."

Just single press the power button of your phone

It will work fine

"Error reading phone init data.." ............................ usually occurs when phone does not go in Flash mode (Boot loader) The phone should not turn on (remove the battery and re-insert it to make sure its actually turned off) If this doesnt work, flash with any other fw or your ofw files from navifirm....and see the result with it do update here whatever the final result is

It is because you are not creating the exact path

Create folder named Nokia in C:/programs

Create folder named Phoenix in C:/programs/Nokia

Create folder named Products in C:/programs/Nokia/Phoenix

Create folder named RM-356 in C:/programs/Nokia/Phoenix/Products

Paste all the 6 files in RM-356 folder created in C:/programs/Nokia/Phoenix/Products

yeah...he need to rename it back the C0r to C00

Changed the directory and also file names. Still the same problem. Also tried binh's and resulted with same problem.

Earlier when I had flashed your Crystal1 c640, Crystal1 N97 and Rohit's C640 there was no problem.

Pl let me know from where I can download JAF?

I provided my camera fix files extracted out of the C6v41 port i created for 5800 to Abhishek and prayaas1998 some days back

If u dont wish to shift to v41....you could just port the camera fix files and web browser to your v40 and enjoy the updates :)
