shivam94 Posted August 17, 2012 Author Report Posted August 17, 2012 FAQ : 1) I am unable to boot into FASTBOOT mode (i.e blue light) by pressing volume up button and then inserting the usb connected to computer. How do I do it then ? A) Most likely it is the problem pertaining to drivers . Install PDANet for Android from here , then try to boot into fastboot mode. It should work now Quote

shivam94 Posted August 21, 2012 Author Report Posted August 21, 2012 can this work on xperia u's latest firmware update? 6.0.B.3184??? PLS reply... thank you so much! Welcome to Gizmolord and nice to see a Xperia U user here The answer to your question is Yes ... Tested by me on that firmware. However , in any case you end up messing your phone (which shouldn't happen if instructions are clearly followed), then flash with your stock firmware.(See the tutorial above in first post) Do let me know if you face any problems .. Yes. Totally. ICS update will most likely be available in the first week of September. You can update to ICS after you relock your bootloader , flash your gingerbread stock firmware and use Sony erricson official updater to update to ICS. However, you can also flash ICS through flash tool which I will clearly explain once ICS is released. . Quote

First of all, please don't call me sir. Shivam would be more appropriate way to call me If you want to flash ics (which'll be released soon for xperia U ) then follow the steps below: 1) In case you are using custom rom and kernel(for which you would have unlocked the bootloader), then download the stock gingerbread firmware (first post of this thread). 2) Use flash tool and flash the original gingerbread firmware for xperia U. 3) Then relock the bootloader (follow instructions on first post) 4) Then use xperia phone software updater on pc and update to ics Hope I am clear enough. Also Please make sure you don't double post on this thread... Quote
chrisal1224 Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 thanks for the guidance...gonna try rooting maybe after the ics update... thank you for the time.:-D Quote
