Rooting IDEA ID-918 Dual Sim 3g mobile(Similar to Alcatel 918N)

Guys I have Successfully Rooted this phone

So I am posting a tutorial for you all. Because you will need a lot of researching for rooting this phone as there is no tutorial available with the name of this device. You'll say that there are many tutorials available to Root Alcatel 918 N but According to me they will not work on this phone.

I first tried using SuperOneClick but no help. Then Unlock Root and DoomLordz Root and even no help from it.

So here is the tutorial:

Required Things and Apps being talked in the tutorial are in the attatched package.

01) Copy the file Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip to the root of your SD card.

02) Make sure your battery is fully charged and turn off your phone.

03) Head to the directory SP_Flash_Tool_v2.1134.00 and start FlashTool.exe.

04) Make sure the menu Options->USB Mode is checked.

05) Select Scatter-loading and select Android_2.3.6_MT6573_Android_scatter_918.txt.

Warnings/Errors like this can be safely ignored:

[Warning Hint] Get BMT block count fail, default BMT block count is used!

[Hint] Bootloader files are lost when automatically loading by scatter file.

Please make sure you want to go through anyway.

DSP_BL is unchecked, which may result in a boot failure

06) Check the entry with name "RECOVERY" and double click it.

07) Select the recovery.img file and again make sure ONLY one entry is checked.

08) Click the Download button and plugin your phone with the USB cable.

* Wait some time (untill the recovery file is loaded to your phone) *

09) Unplug your phone and press the volume and power button at once

10) Select "Flash Zip from SDCard" and choose the Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip

11) Confirm the update and reboot your phone. Everything should be done.

I got it at 3k because my uncle works in Idea Centre of my City so I got it at 3k. In market it is of About 5699.

Also it is not good at first use. But after root it works just like samsung galaxy y even though it has only 650MHz processor. I get about 95mb free ram which is far better than unrooted galaxy y.

Are there any available? I don't think so. Because our phone is v2.3.6 and the custom roms available are for v2.3.5 So no luck but you can tweak your phone to maximum. I will post some more tutorials today.

welcome buddy. First of all remove some unused/bloatwares apps like office suite. Idea appmall,Idea fresh using root uninstaller.  Secondly download autokiller memory optimizer which will give a memory boost

Hi, I am new to this forum as well as to Android, need help as I was going thru rooting of Alcatel 918N using this process I am getting error

"E:failed to verify whole-file signature

E:signature verification failed

Installation aborted." while installing file from root of SD Card "Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip".

Need Help, please..

You try it again with another method.

Ok Listen up :

1.Download the attatched apk.(Mobile Uncle tools)

2. Install it on the phone.

3.Copy the recovery.img to the memory card.(Don't paste it into any directory. Paste it directly into the memory card)

4.Now run MobileUncleTools.Click on Get started. Then a popup will appear(maybe not) click cancel.

5.Tap on Flash Recovery option. It will confirm to install the recovery.Press OK.

Then after it is done.

Now u will enter into the recovery with a htc logo in the backgroud.

Now use volume up and volume down to navigate. And power button to confirm.

Select install zip from sd card. and then wait for the process.

no need for a rom. Download alcatel one touch upgrade software and follow the onscreen instruction.

my phone is unable to boot now its just stuck on the htc recovery screen....i press the power button it android logo comes screen goes off and after few seconds android logo comes again and it automatically goes into the HTC Recovery screen :/

thats why I am saying download one touch upgrade software. and remove the battery till then.
