  1. Bi Just to help you out since nobody bother to tell me about it either. You can get a shell script to fix cm10 based ROM's problem with compass and magneto sensor. Go over to Google plus pantech burst thread, and search for the script. It'll fix the problem with compass and magneto sensor right up. Sent From my PantechP9070 on cm10 using Tapatalk
  2. What? are you fishing for sucker to giveaway their dead phones? If I can get into the upgrade screen then my phone wouldn't be dead now, wouldn't it? I don't understand what you are asking for. Sent From my PantechP9070 on cm10 using Tapatalk
  3. You missing a step right before "cd ~/android/cyanogenmod/jellybean/device/pantech/presto." Need to do "repo sync" to sync the repo inside " ~/android/cyanogenmod/jellybean/" directory, or else "/pantech/presto" directories will not exist. Also can you add some where before we test android-sdk, UBUNTU users need to install "ia32.lib" other wise sdk doesn't run properly.
  4. You have cwm touch installed as well? Be sure to get superuser app from the play store, after all, this is the reason why you rooted your phone. Sent From my PantechP9070 on CM10 using Tapatalk
  5. Just to speed things up. If you're running window xp, you need to get a program call "pdanet", which will give you a driver that solves your problem of "waiting for device" during the fastboot. Once you have pdanet, run it and let it install the drivers. You can uninstall pdanet later. If you have window 7 (I don't know about 8, but I heard it has some issues with rooting burst) you don't have to download pdanet. Be sure to turn on usb debug in your phone. Now don't run hack burst tool. In your command screen inside adb tools directory type "adb reboot bootloader" then type "fastboot boot prestoroot.img" Now when you see "waiting for device" msg again, this time open windows device manager, and look for a device that needs driver. Should be something that says android something with an ! over it. Right click it and update the driver. Once the driver is found, I think your phone should break out the waiting for device state and your phone is now rooted. If you still don't have cwm touch installed, you can now run hack burst tool again, and everything should run smoothly. Sent From my PantechP9070 on CM10 using Tapatalk
  6. You didn't say what kind of app you were installing, where you flashing a ROM? Sent From my PantechP9070 on cm10 using Tapatalk
  7. You said you were installing custom ROM when you pulled the battery? IMO you probably have a brick for phone. A hard one at that, join the club. It's time to think about getting another handset. Just to make sure, if you have window pc, plug in your phone and see what kind of driver pc asks for. If it asks for qhsusb_dload, then yes, it's all over for your burst. Hope not so, but you should get ready for such, because I too pull the battery while flashing a ROM, and the result was a hard bricked phone. Sent From my PantechP9070 on cm10 using Tapatalk
  8. Qualcomm has a software call qpst that can be used to communicate with phone that's hard bricked. But it runs on Window. Supposedly with that tool, and if you can get a working image of your phone's base Rom, you can revive the bricked phone by flashing the image onto the phone with the software. However, it's easier to say than done, because I have no ideal how to get a copy of burst's base Rom image. But qpst software is easily available, just do a Google search. Also as you mentioned that you know how to replace the motherboard, I believe that's the only sure way to fix a hard bricked phone. However, for $45 you can also get an used burst. 9. If you are using just stocked ICS, and you want to root your burst, you many want to think about getting the burst hacking tool. It will install CWM touch on your phone so you can back up your Rom and flash the Rom easier in the future if you need to again. If you're interested, search either this forum or xda developers' forum for "burst hacking tool". It makes rooting your phone a snap. Sent From my PantechP9070 on cm10 using Tapatalk
  10. Do you have Window? If you do, plug in your phone and see what kind of driver it asks for. If it asksl for qhsusb-dload then yes, your phone can now do nothing but weighting down papers. Had a similar situation as yours, I too pulled the battery out of my phone when it seem frozen in the flashing process. The result was a hard bricked phone. If that's the case, just have to buy another burst. Which I did for $115 new on ebay. Sent From my PantechP9070 on cm10 using Tapatalk
  11. I don't think you can boost the volume if you are using stocked ICS based ROM. Even ROM like Gizmolord v4rc7 which has DSP manager baked in, it's" only there for the show because Pantech bursts' sound effect program is still running in the background. You know the one where you can pick 7.1 surround sound. My suggestion are either find a way to disable the bursts sound effect, and download app like "equalizer". Else you have to use cm10 or its derivative like AKOP. Then you can use DSP manager or other volume boosting app to boost the sound. Sent From my PantechP9070 on cm10 using Tapatalk
  12. So you can get to s/w upgrade screen? Then you're in a better shape than you realized. From what I read, I'm making an assumption that your operating system is fried, so you have a case of soft brick that can be fixed by getting the dl file of what ever operating system you're running (ICS?) get the Pantech upload tool, switch to s/w upgrade screen, and you can fix your phone in 3min. Sent From my PantechP9070 on cm10 using Tapatalk
  13. Did you try the 3 fingers technique? with the phone turned off, hold down both + and - volume buttons then hold down the power button with another one of your finger. Don't let go until you see a screen that says s/w emergency upload. If you can get here, your phone still got hope. If you can't get to emergency mode, connect your data cable to your phone and pc, and see what the pc tells you, hopefully it's anything but asking for dhsusb_dload driver. 14. Do you have pantech battery? Or a generic kind? Sometimes the generic battery will not charge until it is empty. I will try another pantech battery and see if that helps. Sent From my PantechP9070 on Gizmolord v.4rc7 using Tapatalk
  15. 4th time I installing this ROM, just switching back from CM10, and I'm using Titanium backup to restore my phone, keeping crashing the phone because I keep install incompatible system apps from CM10. Not that there is anything wrong with cm10 for burst, but I really want to watch movies on my phone, and the only app that will work on cm10 is HBO go. It has nothing to do with cm10, but I think it has to do with apps such as showtime anytime, starz go, max go, epix, etc. are not build to run on Jelly bean. I guess 2/3 of android phones out there are still running on ICS and GB. Also there are some issues with cm10 that needed to be work out, such as sudden freeze and video issues with certain apps. I'll probably wait till end of this year for a new phone, and hang tight with ICS for now. Smooth ROM BTW, thank you for building this.
