Repairing a Partially Bricked IDEA id-918 Smartphone

Hey Guys I am Back with another tutorial. Well I got many request from users to help them repairing their IDEA 3G Smartphone.

Here I Begin-:

Note-:This method will only work if you have access to recovery or can boot upto android logo

Things Required-:

1.All drivers installed(If u have bricked your phone while rooting your phone with this tutorial you must have the drivers already installed )

2.One Touch Upgrade Software

3. A lot of patience ( Only for those who have a 512kbps or less speed broadband )

Download Links-:

1. One Touch Upgrade

2. Android Manager ( To install drivers) Ignore if already used the rooting tutorial

Now everything is ready

So do as Directed

1.Install Android Manager ( Ignore if already have the drivers)

2.Install One Touch Upgrade Software.

3.Open One Touch Upgrade Software.

4.Select English

5.Choose Alcatel 918N and press Start.

5.Now Just follow the onscreen instructions.

6.Now click next

7.Now Attatch the phone to the PC via USB Cable

8.Now it will connect to server and downloading package.

It will take a lot of time if you are on a slow connection as data of about 600MB is downloaded during the procedure.

To save this time next time, Just goto C:/One Touch Upgrade/ and copy the downloaded folder onto different disk drive or partition after update is complete.

Troubleshooting-:

Q.Nothing is happening when I connect the phone to the PC ?

First try to remove the usb cable then battery and reinsert it and try again. Else install android manager so that the drivers are updated.

Q.Download Complete but showing some kinda error?

Don't worry your download will not go waste. Just do the procedure in above answer and reinsert the usb cable.

just check your firewall and allow the app to access internet.

ya i have disabled the firewall also still it is not working what to do? please create a idea 3g stock rom for me please bro so that i can flash it from the recovery.

i rooted my idea 918 but i couldn't connect this mobile to pc i have already installed android manager and one touch upgrade software when i connect mobile to PC by usb it doesn't display any information i tried u r above solution of battery remove but it doesn't work

OK download a software called pdanet

It will also help you install the drivers

Repair information:

If you got an ALCATEL OT 918 or M/N/D or Mix which would not boot or is in a bootloop, at step 4 select all the files from OT-918_Orange_Pasadena_Branded folder and go on with the guide.

After Completion Download Andread 3.2 http://www.4shared.com/zip/8hLXUjQb/Andread_32_i2e.html

And flashing from recovery for recovery Power ON & Vol +

Guide for Bricked Phone

1. Turn off the phone, and connect it to the computer (Windows XP/7) with an USB cable, and install the attached drivers

2. Create a scatter file with AlcatelScatterRetriever01,

(alternatively you can skip this step and use the scatter file from the OT-918_Orange_Pasadena_Branded folder)

3. Run Flash tool and open the scatter file

4. Check all files from the OT-918_Orange_Pasadena_Branded folder

Double check that all files are check boxes must be checked! except Android and Custpack which are not available in the package.

5. Click on download Dont follow this image for files Select all Except Android and Custpack

6. Connect the turned off phone to the computer, the progress bar should change its color and after a short while a small window with a green circle and ok should appear.

If it's not working remove USB cable, the battery, and reconnect the battery and then the USB cable and try again.
